Part of the Dales Highway
The Dales Highway is an exhilarating and challenging 90 miles of high level walking, beginning in the World Heritage village of Saltaire, before crossing the glorious high country of the Yorkshire Dales. Our part stretches from Skipton to Settle, with a climb up to Sharp Haw and Weets Top, covering grassy terrain with a fine riverside walk in between. At Weets Top you enter limestone country, where you stumble upon the striking views towards Goredale Scar and Ingleborough. Passing Malham Cove you’ll come across vast limestone outcrops, most spectacularly at Attermire Scar where you can take time out to inspect Jubilee and Victoria Caves before dropping down into Settle.
Distance: 18.7 miles
